Laynce Nix made his comeback at AA Huntsville on Monday and went 1-1 with a 3-run HR and a BB. That puts him on the fast track to the Majors, doesn’t it?
In some strange way, it might actually make more sense to have him on the roster than Tony Gwynn. Gwynn should probably get regular PAs at Nashville. I mean, I don’t think Nix will contribute anything (ever), and Tony has at least hit for a high average so far and provided great defense, so I don’t think that they will “rush” Nix onto the roster, but who knows. Doug Melvin loves him for some reason.
