Ohio State News Roundup: Taver Johnson to Arkansas, Clarke and Gambrell dismissed

There are quite a few things going on simultaneously for Ohio State athletics at the moment, so here is a real quick round up so we can all keep up.

• The Buckeye roundballers crushed Indiana in a revenge game thanks in part to Lenzelle Smith Jr. going berserk.
• Ohio offensive tackle Taylor Decker has switched his commitment from Notre Dame to Ohio State, joining his former coaches Tim Hinton and Ed Warinner in Columbus.
• New football coach Urban Meyer was introduced (click for video goodness) at half time of the Indiana basketball game.
• Football players Dominic Clarke (CB) and Derjuan Gambrell (CB) were released from their scholarships for violating team rules (opening up more spots in the 2012 class).
• 2012 DB prospect Devan Bogard enjoyed his trip to Southern California ($) (who wouldn’t this time of year) but he remains committed to Ohio State at this time.
• CO OL Joey O’Connor has been offered a scholarship and will likely be a Buckeye in the near future.
• Reports are swirling that current Ohio State CB coach Taver Johnson will be joining Paul Haynes on Arkansas’ defensive coaching staff, potentially leaving the Buckeyes searching for one more coach to complete Urban Meyer’s staff. UPDATE: This was announced by Arkansas this evening; Johnson will assume the Assistant Head Coaching title as well.
