It’s a good thing for Boston that they’re in a quiet stretch of the schedule. The Celtics play Wednesday, Friday, and Tuesday, so it’s looking like Olynyk is on pace to only miss a couple of more games thanks to all the down time.

The Celtics also announced that today they’ve filled the open roster spot.

Clarke has been doing some serious work for our friends up in Portland.

Clarke has played in 39 games for the Celtics’ NBA Developmental League affiliate, averaging 16.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.0 minutes per game. He is currently shooting 50.8 percent from the floor, 38.8 percent from three and 79.2 percent from the free-throw line.

For more on him, we turn to Kevin O’Connor

Clarke is a bully on the floor and could be worth a shot at the NBA level. He’s capable of stretching bigs and draining threes, but he can still play tough down low. Good things tend to happen when he’s on the floor for the Red Claws.

All this being said.. it’s very possible we don’t see much from Clarke on floor unless it’s an emergency. He’s more here for an extended look from the big club. I’m guessing he gets the two 10-day deal treatment followed by a non-guaranteed multi-year deal that locks him up for a couple of seasons but lets the C’s cut him in camp.
