Omri Casspi leads delegation of NBA players to Israel

When the Kings inked Omri Casspi to a new two-year contract earlier this month, they knew what they were getting.  The 27-year-old wing is more than just a basketball player.  He is a great locker room presence and the first Israeli-born player to ever play in an NBA game.  With the Kings adding so many pieces over the last few weeks, Casspi is now working to bring the team together in a new way.

Casspi, along with DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Caron Butler are on their way to Israel with a delegation of NBA players.  Joining the group of Kings are NBAers Tyreke Evans, Chandler Parsons, Alan Anderson and Iman Shumpert.

According to The Times of Israel, the group is scheduled to spend Shabbat in the holy city and will stay at Jerusalem’s historic King David Hotel from Friday through Sunday.
