“On paper, we’re the NBA champions”

This was linked in the Morning Dump, but it's a bold enough statement that we had to feature it on its own.
This is also from the Shamrock gala… and CSNNE.com has the money quote:

"Of course paper doesn't play, people play," said Rivers, turning to address his players directly. "And on paper we're the NBA Champions. Now, we have to do it on the floor. So that's the next step."

I'll say it again… Doc doesn't say things without thinking it through first.  He clearly feels this approach is the best for his team.  He's challenging them from the start:  You guys can be champs… go prove it.

I've never really heard Doc quite as bold as this.  I gotta admit… I kinda like it.
