On the Menu: Jalapeno Fire Pork Burgers

I didn’t remember to take a picture of this, but it’s all right, because when you get down to it, it was just a burger. I made the patties myself and grilled them outside on the charcoal grill last night when the temperatures were just cooling off, and it was rather beautiful.

The patties incorporated some salsa and some ranch dressing, which was an interesting combination, but frankly it was sort of lost in the end. It was supposed to be a regular beef patty, but I accidentally grabbed ground pork. That might have contributed to the lost flavors of salsa and ranch.

That or the fact that the burgers were topped with sauteed jalapenos and onions. The jalapenos were bearable, even for me, but there was definitely a flavor of the chili peppers that overrode most of the rest of the burger. The peppers with the charred flavor from the grill and some very good buns made for a tasty meal. It wasn’t the best food I’ve made, but it was good for the summer.
