Oehser takes stock of how things stand one day out
One other thing: Forget anything you hear about the Colts trying to push Sanders back for Tennessee because of the importance of the game. The Colts don’t work that way, and they have played — and won — plenty of big games without Sanders. If Sanders is ready to play and doctors and he feel he’s 100 percent, he’ll play. Otherwise, he doesn’t.
I want to be clear…
I don’t think the Colts are ‘pushing’ Sanders back. I think it was always the plan to have him back and that they are being coy about his availability. There’s a big difference. I think they always targeted this game as the game they wanted him ready by (or else they should have left him on PUP).
Now, it’s the week of the game, and Sanders has practiced some. Bear in mind that even when he’s healthy, they don’t make him practice on Thursdays. My guess is that the Colts think he’s ready and want to unveil him tomorrow night. That’s not the same thing as “pushing him”.
It’s all a guess, for sure, and I could be wrong, but that’s my bet.
