This is one of the few Clippers fans who showed up at last night’s Pistons/Clippers game. He’s an innocent doucher who just wanted to let the Pistons know how he felt about them after Rasual Butler hit a game tying three-pointer with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter. Children look on and fittingly, Butler hit the dagger three-pointer late in the game, as well. Bingo.
Well this is kind of how I feel about the Pistons after this loss. First of all, I stayed up late when I could have been studying or sleeping. I thought maybe, just maybe they’d cake-walk this one – after all, they were up by as many as 12 and somewhat coasting for three and a half quarters. Then they just totally effed with my emotions at the end. They went back and forth, fell behind by three, tied it with a three, fell behind again, failed to score when down by two (Rodney Stuckey was mugged), Clippers go up four with less than 10 seconds left and it’s all but over.
But wait!
Rip Hamilton threw up a desperation three, on which he was fouled. The shot went in and out, but if that wasn’t enough of a “fuck you” moment, well then proceeding to miss three straight free throws certainly was. Yes, the Piston who was just 10 free throws from breaking Joe Dumars all-time Pistons mark for consecutive free throws made coming into the game, missed three in a row to seal the Pistons fate at the end.
Big ol’ middle fingers to the Pistons, with children looking on, is 100% right.
