One rather large leap

Last night represented a rather large leap in the Coyotes ownership issue. I am not celebrating yet though. Board of Governors still need to approve and after several years of this, nothing would surprise me. I will still anxiously await the official announcement from RSE and the NHL that the sale is now final. I want all i's dotted, t's crossed and all parties have signed on the dotted line. I'd ask for a notarized copy of the final agreement but I doubt my credentials as a part time Coyotes blogger would get me that. 😉

I am not going to lie, I absolutely HATE the name Arizona Coyotes. I will do two things. 1) Buy up all the Phoenix Coyotes merch available when it goes on clearance and 2) continue to refer to them as the Phoenix Coyotes. I am stubborn and I hate change, especially when change is not needed.

With that said, I hope that this bodes well and come July 5th we can actually spend some money and get me that sniper I've been asking for.

As far as the draft I was not as involved in it this year as I have been in the past. I think our pick of Domi was a good one. I like the fact that he was actually excited to be in the franchise, many thanks to GMDM and Tippett for creating an environment that guys actually want to play for. It's not just the weather, year round golf and hot women that attract them. It's the team. That makes me smile.

I secretly, or not so secretly, wanted Vinny to land in Phoenix. I knew it was a long shot but I will say if he has to be in any other uniform besides Coyotes I am glad it is a Flyers sweater. I hope both my teams do much better this coming season. I want to see good hockey and good wins plus all the playoff action!

I know this is short and sweet but I had a couple thoughts to get out. Hopefully I can put something together come free agency. Stay tuned.
