One reporter doesn’t think Love will be dealt by the draft

Love

We are about ten days away from the NBA Draft or the unofficial Kevin Love trade deadline. You gotta think the Wolves would make the inevitable move prior to June 26 in order to get additional assets in this deep draft.

But Steve Kylar of Basketball Insiders has a different spin:

I’m perplexed.

ESPN reported two months ago that owners were told by the league that the cap would likely increase from $58.6 million to $63.2 million in 2014-15. The luxury-tax threshold would also move from $71.7 million to $77 million. Granted, these are merely projections, but I can’t imagine the actual figures would be anything less than $1 million.

As for the Celtics competition for Love, the Chicago Sun Times reports the Bulls’ Plan A is Carmelo Anthony, but they “are more active in their pursuit of Kevin Love than initially rumored.”
