Shortly after publishing the some of today’s earlier articles, TSN’s Chris Cuthbert pointed out prior to puck drop that Bryan Murray has spoken with Mika, Melnyk, MacLean, scouts in the past 48 hours. A decision on whether to keep Mika or send him back to the SEL could be postponed until weekend. Adding that during his time in Washington and Florida, Murray kept Scott Stevens and Ed Jovanovski around as 18-year olds.
It begs the question however, why would the decision on Zibanejad’s fate be postponed until the weekend unless there are some diverging opinions within the organization as to what is in the player’s best developmental interests?
