Glen Ihenacho has two older brothers who played college football at San Jose State, and each made it to the NFL. One brother, Duke, is currently on the roster for the Denver Broncos.
A 5-11, 180-lb. safety for Junipero Serra High in Gardena, California, Ihenacho committed to the Ducks Thursday night after visiting for the Utah game. He’s an athlete and a crunching tackler with great range and ball-hawking skills, 4.48 speed in the 40 and a 38-inch vertical leap. A fast-rising, 3-star prospect, he has offers from over a dozen schools, including 10 in the PAC-12.
What stands about him in the video is closing speed and his ability to attack and compete in coverage. He reads the run very well. On the first play of the highlight film he takes a long pass over his shoulder in deep coverage like a receiver and returns it for a touchdown, a playmaker with tons of ability and potential. Ihenacho made all-conference in his junior year, racking up 64 tackles, nine pass deflections, three interceptions, one pick returned for a touchdown, two tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery.
He can bench 265 and squat 385. His offer list includes Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Houston, Illinois, Miami, Oregon State, San Jose State,UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
