It’s a great story, the best that sports has to offer: a young man doing everything he can to achieve a dream.
With hard work, Fabian Moreau of Western High in Broward County, Florida, took himself from a 5-8, 145-lb. third string halfback as a sophomore to a 6-0 185-pounder who scampered for 20 touchdowns and over 2000 all-purpose yards as a senior.
Moreau has soft hands out of the backfield and has a top time of 4.38 in the 40. He could readily play slot receiver or TAZR as a collegian and is also a good kick returner.
He’s verbally committed to UCLA but Oregon remains his top school. “My dream is to be a Duck,” he said earlier this year, and he’d jump at an Oregon offer. The Ducks are looking hard at versatile athletes like Bryan Harper and Damariay Drew; Moreau is similar in size, speed, and skills. He also has a 3.4 GPA and a score of 20 on his ACT.
