Game Notes: (to be updated as tipoff nears)

UPDATE: It looks like Curry will play. Both Thompson and Curry have been listed as starters by Warriors PR.

  • “Curry and Thompson both starting. Dubs catch a break with Vucevic sitting out due to back spasms” — Brian Witt, Warriors PR
  • Curry (ankle) and Thompson (quad) are both questionable, although they looked fine during this morning’s shootaround. They’ve missed just one game between them on the season, when Thompson sat out November 9th loss against Phoenix with a strained right hand.
  • Steve Kerr hasn’t announced his contingency plan, but Leandro Barbosa (6.4 PPG, 1.4 RPG, 1.4 APG) would likely fill in again for Thompson if he can’t go, while Shaun Livingston (4.6 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 2.4 APG) would presumably get his first start of the season if Curry is unavailable
  • The Magic’s top draft pick and Bay Area-native Aaron Gordon is out indefinitely after surgery on his left foot. Gordon was a star at San Jose’s Archbishop Mitty High School before moving on to the University of Arizona.
  • The Warriors are on a 3-game win streak against the Magic dating back to New Year’s Eve 2013. Previously, the Warriors had lost 8 of their last 9 to Orlando
  • Orlando rookie and sixth man Elfrid Payton (6.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 4.9 APG) said “playing up” and “closing out” on Curry will be a key for the Magic in a rematch of last Wednesday’s blowout
