Football is now just 99 days away from kickoff, and the Dallas Cowboys offseason is already off to a dismal start, but in the meantime there are a few other sports you can watch to help kill the time.
Baseball
I know Texas is football country, but it is something to help pass the time. The Rangers were expected to have a pretty decent season this year; according to MyTopSportsbooks.com they have the 12th best odds of winning the World Series. Even though the Rangers have bitten stricken with a serious injury bug they still have Beltre, Rios, and other’s in support. At this point, the Rangers could still make a wild card push if they can level off the injuries and keep the recent offensive production rolling.
The World Cup
The World Cup is only an option every four years, and this happens to be one of those years. It starts after the draft and ends before the season starts (June 12 – July13).
The USA squad drew a tough pool, giving the squad early match ups with Germany, Portugal, and Ghana–who knocked out the US during the past 2 World Cups. Even if they don’t make it through pool play, it’s a fun event to watch and keep up with. Coach Klinsmann has recently announced the 23-man roster for team USA, check it out here. Go USA!
The UFC has exploded since signing their exclusive television deal with FOX, and as a result the UFC are running events on a weekly basis, so at times you may miss some of the key fights during the year. The UFC is showing on all the FOX networks, of which some may not have access too. But there are some key fights you don’t want to miss. Mainly 4th of July Weekend. July 5th you have Weidman vs Machida for the Middleweight Championship. Then on July 6th, its Edgar vs Penn free on Fox Sports 1. Check out the full schedule here.
Once the season ends, it can really be tough to find something to pass the time. Hopefully these ideas helped some of you pass the time. Please feel free to leave recommendations to help pass the time for others in the comments section.
