Out Of Playoff Hunt, Milwaukee Brewers Look To Affect NL Postseason Races Throughout Final Month

mayodraftday

The Milwaukee Brewers aren’t playing meaningful September baseball for their franchise, but figure to play a part in the National League playoff races throughout the final month of the season.

Sitting in the strongest division in baseball, the National League Central, the Brewers have a slew of games in September against division opponents who are vying for postseason eligibility. The St. Louis Cardinals have a 6-game lead on the Pittsburgh Pirates for first-place, while the Chicago Cubs trail the Pirates by 4.5 games. Those two latter teams are also in possession of both NL Wild Card spots, and appear to be on a collision course towards the NL Wild Card Game — unless one of them can catch St. Louis for division supremacy.

With no chance at reaching the postseason, it’s an opportune time to see games with playoff intensity on the cheap. Below are the most and least expensive Brewers tickets on the secondary market, with information from TiqIQ.com.

9/26/2015 | St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers | Busch Stadium | Average Price: $136.26 | Get-in Price: $25 | Lance Berkman Bobblehead

9/27/2015 | St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers | Busch Stadium | Average Price: $102.17 | Get-in Price: $7

The Cardinals are en route to yet another NL Central division title, but the Pirates are still within striking distance if they post another strong month. Milwaukee will be playing playoff-like baseball when arriving in Busch Stadium towards the end of the month, for their two most expensive games in September. In the process, they could put a dash into St. Louis’ division title hopes. A trip to one of the aesthetically pleasing stadiums is a few clicks away on Hipmunk.com, which has available St. Louis flights to create a baseball vacation.

9/12/2015 | Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers | PNC Park | Average Price: $93.93 | Get-in Price: $26

The third-most expensive Brewers tickets are for a road game against the Pirates at PNC Park. The Pirates are going to have to dominate the bottom of the division to have a realistic shot at the division title, although Milwaukee has actually given them some issues in 2015, such as when the Brewers swept them in the first series following the All-Star break. Pittsburgh hotels on Hipmunk start from $67 for Brewers fans in the area.

9/4/2015 | Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers | Great American Ball Park | Average Price: $24 | Get-in Price: $3

9/3/2015 | Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates | Miller Park | Average Price: $27 | Get-in Price: $6

For Milwaukee’s least expensive tickets down the stretch, that actually comes in the first week of September; first, when they host the Pirates at Miller Park, and then in the following series when they travel to Great American Ball Park to take on the Reds. As mentioned earlier, it’s a great value deal to attend Miller Park to watch a quality baseball game against the Pirates with a get-in price of only $6. Furthermore, watching the Brewers take on the Reds may also be tempting, as both teams are looking to avoid finishing in the NL Central cellar. With such low prices, either game makes a good choice for any fan looking to take in September baseball live.
