Pacers drop 88-87 decision to Lakers

This was one of those “I have a bad feeling about this” type of games.

The Pacers raced out to an early double-digit lead, but just couldn’t put the Lakers away. They got offensive boards galore, but couldn’t put the ball in the hole when they needed to most. And so I wasn’t surprised when Kobe Bryant put the Lakers up by 1 with 12 seconds to go, and then for the Pacers to botch the final diagram play, resulting in a 20-footer by Roy Hibbert that never had any chance.

Final score, 88-87. The Pacers have their 2-game winning streak snapped and fall to 13-22, while the Lakeshow improves to 11-23.

CJ Miles had himself another good one with 19 to lead six Pacers in double figures. Third-stringer Donald Sloan again showed that he can more than step up in the place of injured George Hill and CJ Watson, scoring 16, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists.

I hate losing to the Lakers, so I’ll keep this depressing post brief.

Next up, the Pacers head to Utah to take on the Jazz, who are 4-2 in their last six games and 6-3 in their last nine. Could be a nice bounceback test for the Pacers.
