Pacers fall to Celtics for 5th straight loss

It’s getting laughable now. Having already lost Paul George, David West, George Hill, CJ Watson and Rodney Stuckey to injuries, the Pacers are also now without CJ Miles. That’s arguably 6 of the team’s top 7 players. And all they’ve got in return is…AJ Price! That’s right, the former Pacer has been re-signed because Gal Mekel’s visa was too troublesome and the team needed immediate relief.

Anyway, the Pacers lost their 5th game of the season today, a 101-98 decision to the Celtics in Boston. Roy Hibbert had 22 and 11 with 4 blocks, Chris Copeland had 17, Donald Sloan had 15 and Lavoy Allen and Solomon Hill had 12 apiece.

The Celtics are not a playoff team (and lost Marcus Smart today to an ankle injury that could keep him out for a while), but the Pacers are cellar dwellers right now with all their injuries. I’m not even sure if the injuries are genuine. I mean, I’m sure guys are hurting, but NBA players take the court with little nagging things all the time, and it wouldn’t surprise me if team brass told them to take all the time they want before coming back.

The Pacers play again tomorrow night against the Wizards, who only beat them in OT a couple of days ago. I’m sure the team has revenge on its mind but I’m not sure that will be enough.
