* Jake Peavy, the Padres’ ace, 2-hit the Crew over 7 IP, and fanned 8, en route to the 3-0 victory over the Brewers
* Sunday’s game marked the first time that the Brewers’ had been shut out all season
* The Padres’ series also marked the first time that the Brewers’ had been swept all season
Still, the Brewers’ record now stands at 28-22, and remain in first place in the NL Central, although their once dominating lead has been whittled down to just 3 games in the loss column (think the FSN Wisconsin boys said the Brewers had an 11 game lead earlier) ahead of the Cubs.
But this road trip has been brutal–the Brewers went just 1-5 against the top two teams in the NL West, and were outscored 21-30…not terrible, but tough to swallow nonetheless.
Still nothing on the line-up for Sunday evening’s games in Albuquerque…while everyone else in my fantasy league put in for bids on Ryan Braun, I’ve got one in on Gallardo–still betting that Gallardo is scratched tonight and starts Tuesday in Milwaukee…and Braun gets sent back down.
