When Georgios Papagiannis claimed he could shoot beyond the arc on our press conference call after the NBA Draft, I didn’t believe it. Then, when Vlade Divac reiterated his ability to shoot the rock, I took it with a grain of salt.
“He’s a tall kid that’s very mobile running up and down the floor, playing very good defense, (he) did very well shooting from outside,” Divac said.
Of course he would say that but this morning, I was browsing through Papagiannis’ Instagram and came across this video:

Initially, I couldn’t believe what I was watching. He hit seven straight shots but what impressed me was the way he made them. It looked effortless for the young man. He definitely has range and now I can see why Divac was so excited during our media press conference.
“We followed him for a year and we thought he wasn’t going to be available after 18th, so that’s why we took him at the 13,” Divac said.
Will it translate into the NBA? Only time will tell but what we already know is that Papagiannis believes in his ability to play the game of basketball and he has already been very clear on proving his worth on being selected No.13 in the first round.

Hard work and dedication always pays off and from the looks of it, Papagiannis is ready to give it his all and earn the trust from the best fans in the NBA.
“I believe in myself and I believe it was the best number for me and I’m truly blessed,” Papagiannis said.
