“Parks and Rec” Predicts a Cubs Championship

It’s 2015 and we’re supposed to be thinking about is a Chicago Cubs World Series victory, right? I mean, “Back to the Future II” foretold the prophecy!

But maybe it’s not their year. Maybe it is, wait for it, next year…or year after that.

Almost going unnoticed (perhaps because of this), during the two-part “Parks and Rec” season premiere was the subtle mention to the Cubs becoming champs. What’s unclear is whether or not the team won in 2016 or 2017.

The NBC series is back and set in the “not so distant future” and during the second half of the premiere, Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) and Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) made the long trip north, from Pawnee to the Windy City. While out walking along Lake Michigan, Andy questions why everyone is so happy.  The reason, according to Tom’s ex-girlfriend Lucy…the Cubs just won the World Series.

And who knows…maybe they will?

Probably not.
