Today, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were cleaning house as the they traded 2012 first round pick Mark Barron to the St. Louis Rams but before they did that they traded outside linebacker Jonathan Casillas to the New England Patriots. This was first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

If you remember last week, the Patriots acquired linebacker Akeem Ayers from the Tennessee Titans. In this trade with the Bucs, the Patriots only gave up late round picks.

Over his six-year career, Casillas has been a solid linebacker with 138 combined tackles and a forced fumble. Thus far this season, he only has nine combined tackles in five games played.
Casillas spent his first three years with the New Orleans Saints before going over to NFC South rival, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New England Patriots are trying to sure up their defense going into the second half of the season.
