The New England Patriots pulled off another blockbuster trade, acquiring tight-end Martellus Bennett and a sixth-round pick in exchange for a fourth round pick. The sixth round pick coming to New England was originally their pick, and was used to acquire linebacker Jon Bostic last year.

Bennett, 29, is a 2014 Pro Bowler, who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys out of Texas A&M. Bennett spent the first four seasons of his career with the Cowboys, before playing a year with the New York Giants, and the last three with the Chicago Bears.
Bennett has racked up 3,586 receiving yards in his career, along with 23 touchdowns. Nineteen of those touchdowns came in the last four years, where he developed a reputation as a big time target.
At six-foot-six, Bennett joins Rob Gronkowski (also six-foot-six) as another big weapon for Tom Brady in the passing game. The Patriots have utilized two tight end sets for many years now, and had a great deal of success. Bennett joins Chris Hogan as another top receiving target added for Brady this offseason.
