Training Camp Day 1 is in the books for the Patriots and in front of an over capacity, crowd fans were being placed on the ramps in Gillette Stadium overlooking practice fields. It was a no pads practice for the Patriots as they are expected right up until Saturday. 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Scott Zolak reported that Belichick told him on Saturday the Patriots will be practicing in full-pads.

The big story line going into this camp was the health of TE Rob Gronkowski. Belichick said in his pre-practice presser that there is no limits on Gronkowski and that he is good to go with no limitations. Gronk after practices confined that he is back in full force by saying “When we put those pads on, I’m definitely ready to take some hits.” and “I had a longer vacation than most of the guys.”

With training camp started again, Tom Brady took the field for the first time this season to a huge applause. In fact, Brady could not do anything wrong that would not get the fans on their feet. At one point in this practice Brady took his helmet off and the crowd erupted.

Brady a week away from turning 40-years-old looks great, Brady was 20 of 24 and completed his last 14 passes and hit Brandin Cooks three straight times in the final period. Brady also was part of the play of the day that was a 30-yard TD pass and catch Tom Brady to Brandon Cooks.

Garoppolo was 12 of 19 and had two straight interceptions to close a period. Brissett was 21 of 34. Not a good first day for Jacoby Brissett as he looked a little slow but nothing to be worried about as he took the most snaps out of all three quarterbacks.

today we also got to see the comeback of Malcolm Mitchell who said he is “good to go” after being limited this spring.

Others missing from practice were Defensive end, Kony Ealy and long snapper, Joe Cardona. No reasons have been released as to why they missed practice today.

But the quote of the day goes to Bill Belichick who in his press conference dropped a “instantface” quote you can see that below. The Patriots will be back in action tomorrow morning in day 2 of Training Camp, Practice starts at 9:15 AM and is open to the public.
