It was a short practice for the Patriots today as Bruins Head Coach Brice Cassidy was in attendance for their last day of public practice at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots will now travel to Houston, Texas for some joint practices with the Texans before their second preseason game Saturday night.

Today’s practice for the Patriots was filled with situational plays and the defense looked great. They dominated in the red zone as Brady, Garoppolo, and Brissett collectively went 0-for-8 during this drill.

James O’Shaughnessy returned to practice today and Alan Branch was finally taken from the PUP list and was back at practice today. Although Branch wouldn’t say whether his time on the PUP was injury- or conditioning-related: “You’d have to ask Bill that.”

Missing from practice today was Matthew Slater, Brandon King, Tony Garcia and Matt Lengel. Deatrich Wise, Keionta Davis, Nate Solder, Mike Gillislee, and Shea McClellin were all at practice today but did not participate.

In 11-on-11’s Brady was 16-of-24, Garoppolo was 8-of-15 and Brissett was 1-of-2. Lots of incompletions from by Brady and Garoppolo today.
