Bill Belichick officially opened up the 2017-2018 season with a press conference and everyone is now ready to go.
Belichick opened the presser by saying “it’s always good to be getting started” and “this will be a long haul but I think we’re all excited to get started.”
With all of the vets already in Foxboro and ready for the start of training camp we are all ready for football season.
The Patriots have high hopes for this season as they will try to go for back-to-back championships after an epic win in Super Bowl LI. USA Today Sports even predicted the Patriots to go 16-0 this season. Belichick would have none of that saying as he jokingly said “I guess I missed some great reading over the summer”.
He was also asked a follow-up question on if the goal was a perfect season and in typical Bill Belichick fashion he said “Not really worried about all that’s in the future.”
Belichick even talked about more serious issues such as concussions and CTE saying it’s “an important area that’s been given a lot of attention, as it should.” Belichick also confirmed that they Patriots will be practicing with the Lions before there preseason game on Friday, August 25th.
With training camp in full swing tomorrow the Patriots will on be on the filed getting ready as they will open the season on Thursday, September 7th as they will be raising there 5th Super Bowl Championship banner vs. the Chiefs.
