The NCAA has announced that UCONN football linebacker Jarrell Miller has been declared ineligible for the 2007 season and must be treated as a transfer student. He had signed a letter of intent to go to North Carolina and attended summer classes there in 2006. He then withdrew and enrolled at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. He never participated in practices at UNC but nonetheless was ruled ineligible and must wait til next year to play. He will still have 4 years of eligibility. He had been listed at 2nd on the depth chart at middle linebacker behind Danny Lansanah.
The Wade Trophy Committee announced that two UCONN women’s basketball players were named to the 2007-2008 Wade Watch. They are Renee Montgomery and Tina Charles. Only 25 players were selected.

CONNECTICUT-Suspended sophomore RB Andre Dixon and freshman LB Corey Stringer indefinitely from the football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
