As part of their Meineke Car Care Bowl gift package, the Huskies got a trip today to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. By all accounts I have read all of the Huskies had a blast. Even the reporters got into the act as well.
From Chip Malafronte of the New Haven Register:
The hardest part about driving back to the hotel after the Richard Petty Driving Experience this morning at Lowe’s Motor Speedway was resisting the temptation to push my rented Pontiac GT into triple digits while weaving in and out of traffic.
Words really don’t do justice to the feeling of racing around a 1.5-mile oval at speeds up to 165 miles-per-hour, but it was certainly one of the biggest thrills I’ve ever experienced.
Shawn Courchesne of the Hartford Courant shares this video with us about Randy Edsall’s experiences in the car.

All in all, looks like a good time had by all today. Now it’s time to turn the focus back on playing football and winning the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
