We heard good news from Dustin Pedroia in Toronto today. The Laser Show looks to be on its way back!!! Pedey had his best workout yet…where he was basically able to run full speed. Tomorrow, he will run the bases. Friday, he’s going to meet with the doctors and if they give him the A OK, then he is heading to Pawtucket for games on Saturday and Sunday.
Tito’s comments on Pedey’s rehab progress:
“He did great,” the manager said after watching Pedroia’s workout. “Today was by far the best day. It was one of those days when you kind of leap by bounds. I think we hoped that would be the case. Some days it’s level and then you have a day like today. He kind of simulated coming out of the batter’s box and then he’s run straight. I’d say he was close to 100 percent speed-wise.
Good good news folks. We’ve had Pedey on the shelf for way too long and having him back can only make our team better in the final stretch.
BTW- If Dustin does end up coming back and rejoining the team on Tuesday…August 17th…it’ll be a special day in more ways than one, the 17th is also Pedey’s birthday. Happy Birthday Kiddo!
