Dustin Pedroia was given the day off today because he had a sore knee from last night. It does not look to be a serious issue and Francona thought this would be a good way to get Pedey some rest. Ortiz is going to have to display the “Laser Show” by himself today.
Josh Beckett is feeling fine and will make his start on Tuesday against the Yankees.
Jacoby Ellsbury is ready to begin some rehab games. He will be with the PawSox on Monday and the Sea Dogs on Tuesday.
