The New York Rangers (38-15-5) lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins (34-21-5) by the score of 2-0, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports.
…complete lack of energy from the Blueshirts tonight. It doesn’t happen too often, but it felt like the Penguins wanted it more. The effort was still there, but just not enough. Which is surprising and disappointing considering the opponent.
…if Bickel isn’t there to stir things up when the team needs a spark, why exactly is he in the line-up right now? I did enjoy his position confusion in the third period, which was the only time I had a smile on my face the entire game.
…bad giveaway by Del Zotto + terrible pinch by Stralman + God awful decision not to fall back on defense by Richards = Malkin’s 33rd of the season.
…at least Dubinsky was hitting Penguins (7) because he sure as hell can’t hit the back of the net right now.
…not sure why Eminger and Stralman get benched when the offense puts up a doughnut.
…you know what would have helped, it ryhmes with Nick Rash. Who incidently scored his 20th of the season against San Jose tonight.
…at least Lundqvist came to play.
…power play officially costing Rangers games.
…could have been the worst tripping call in the history of the NHL on Staal.
…as Ron Duguay pointed out in the post game, Rangers sniper was out played by Penguins sniper.
…on Long Island Friday night.
