Penn State preview #5: Army

picture 33

The Lions are winners of three in a row, and this weekend they will welcome the Army Black Knights (1-3) to Happy Valley.

Overview

Army isn’t the greatest of teams, but they are more than a walk over. Army could easily be 3-1 just like Penn State. They run the triple option, so the defense will have to be ready for it. Did I mention there’s a hurricane coming up the east coast this weekend? Well there is, and that could be a problem considering the Lions’ top two running backs are presumed inactive this week. The other question is, can Christain Hackenberg repeat his stellar performance last week?

Last Thoughts:

The Lions are looking for their fourth straight victory this Saturday, and if the defense continues to do its job, it should happen. Army rushes for almost 200 yards a game, if that can be contained, it should be an easy victory. If it does rain, and Barkley and Lynch can’t go, look for Mark Allen and Nick Scott to fill in. Brandon Polk should also have an expanded role. I think Penn State will run away with this one late en route to a fourth straight win. It’s always bitter sweet playing against the service teams (Army, Air Force, Navy) knowing all they do for our country.

This game is sold out–let’s see how many people brave the elements if it does indeed rain heavy.
