Even though it was a day earlier than normal, baseball’s Winter Meetings opened how they always do…with the announcement of the newest members of the Hall of Fame.
Sunday, the newly-formed 16-member Today’s Game Era Committee announced that former commissioner Bud Selig (15 votes) and longtime Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves general manager John Schuerholz (16 votes) would be inducted July 30 in Cooperstown. And even though the outcome was as predicted, people were pissed.
Well, to be fair, they were only pissed about Selig getting in. Schuerholz is generally regarded as being a “good guy”.
Second stupidest election of the year. Between the strike he forced in 1994 and the PEDs he ignored, Bud Selig nearly destroyed baseball. https://t.co/58TBG3dE6Q

Senseless to keep steroid guys out when the enablers are in Hall of Fame. I now will hold my nose and vote for players I believe cheated.

Bud Selig getting elected to the HOF is a joke. He's a grade A asshole.

Bud Selig is the man who ruined Major League Baseball. And now he's going into the MLB Hall Of Fame.
He's why I quit being a fan.

Take it from a lifelong Brewers fan, fuck Bud Selig

Bud Selig should never be included in the baseball hall of fame. Absolute sack of shit who created one of the worst rules in MLB history

The most "hipster" thing about me is that I'm old school hating Bud Selig. May his statute at Miller Park be struck (melted) by lightning 🌩

Yikes.
