Thunder swingman Thabo Sefolosha brought his buddy Joakim Noah into the Oklahoma Thunder locker room following last night’s game with the Bulls. Kendrick Perkins did not react warmly to the sight of Noah on his turf (via ESPN):
Perkins: “They just let anybody in the locker room?”
Noah: “C’mon, man.”
Perkins: “I’m just asking, though.”
Noah: “C’mon, man.”
Perkins: “Just let anybody in the locker room now?”
Noah: “You want me to wait outside?”
Perkins: “I’m just saying, though.”
Noah: “If you want me to wait outside, I’ll wait outside.”
Perkins: “Get your ass up outta here.”
Noah: “Aight.”
The two players crossed paths again outside the Thunder’s locker room. More words were exchanged as Noah walked toward the Bulls’ bus, but ultimately nothing else transpired.
Chicago has an open-door policy regarding former Bulls visiting the locker room, and players come and go frequently. Judging from Thursday night’s exchange, however, it doesn’t seem that a similar policy exists with the Thunder.
I’m with Perk on this one. He legit doesn’t like Joakim Noah and won’t pretend to like him off the court.
Some of the responsibility for this incident falls on Sefolosha. He needs to be more aware. Imagine if David Thirdkill brought former Pistons teammate Bill Laimbeer into the Celtics locker room in 1987. How would that go over?
And Noah shouldn’t be surprised. He’s making a career out of being an irritant. There are many guys who dislike him.
I guarantee KG nodded his head and said, “That’s my f-in boy” after learning about this incident.
