Nice update from Phil B Wilson about Irsay’s time with the press.

“You guys don’t know this, but we’ve come up against the cap. We went through, a couple times, we were right on it. We had done some things and boxed ourselves in a little bit and we were able to maneuver. (President) Bill (Polian) has done a great job of doing that. But it’s tough. We’ve come up against it, trying to keep these guys together, trying to deal with the system. We’ve had our close calls because there’s been some times when we’ve had extensions with the CBA, that we’ve had some quick shifts, some rules have come into play and all of a sudden some rules have changed. You learn from that. Thankfully, we got past that and that’s been part of our success. But at the same time, you learn from that and you don’t want to get boxed in and put yourself in an untenable position.”
