Phil B on James

He talks about the up and down life of a practice squadder

Also, and I’m probably a bit biased because I like the guy, but it didn’t make sense to cut LB Tyjuan Hagler to make room for James, who will be a third running back. I understand the need. Don’t question it. But all Hagler did in one game was make two special-teams tackles on kickoffs and also drew a holding penalty. When he was here before, we saw him make stops. He just couldn’t stay healthy.

I, for one, think Hagler should get a chance to play in place of Philip Wheeler. It’s fair to say Wheeler has yet to live up to his third-round pick, and the clock is ticking. It’s his third year. When are we going to see it. I’m not saying Hagler is the answer to everything, but I know of at least two or three other guys on this roster that would have been more expendable than Hagler. I’m sure, because he’s a free agent, they could opt to bring him back in a week, but still. OK, I’ll let it go.

Wheeler played VERY well against Denver
