Wilson updates us on the status of several players
Cornerback Marlin Jackson also worked out, but I get the feeling the Colts will also play it safe with him, so he’s ready for the regular season opener. Don’t know yet if Kelvin Hayden will be back by then from his hamstring problems, but I asked Caldwell if he was confident both would return soon and he said, in as many words, that he was. Not saying they will both go against Jacksonville, but whatever the setbacks, they shouldn’t last. Along these same lines, rookie CB Jerraud Powers sat out practice. Because we talk to the coach before practice, we don’t know what’s what until we ask the next day. And I’m not going to be out there the rest of the week, so I’ll be paying attention to my colleague’s reports and emails to see what’s going on. The Colts are a bit thin at DB for this game. Maybe we’ll see T.J. Rushing back there again.
