Phil B Wilson talks to Peter F King

Phil B’s blog is excellent…

“But I look at it this way. That’s a spot, knowing what I know about (Tony) Ugoh now, you basically look at their situation and you say, ‘It would have been nice to get a tackle late in the first round and maybe it was more of a position of need,’ but I tend to think because they didn’t pick one that they haven’t given up on Ugoh. I think they’re trying to send a message to him that 55 out of 60 good plays in a game is not good enough. It’s got to be 59 or 60 out of 60.”

He went on to say of Ugoh, “This is one of the few big moves that (president) Bill Polian has made in his career, in his career, that hasn’t panned out, the deal for Ugoh. Now, who knows? Maybe Ugoh wakes up, the alarm clock goes off and by midseason he’s the starter and he’s a dominant tackle. It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. That’s why I think it’s a surprise to so many people, that the Colts really stuck their neck out for this guy and he hasn’t panned out.”
