<![CDATA[With the undrafted free agent period still going on in the NFL, players are still being signed. Many teams are looking for players to fill out their practice squad or possibly their 53 man roster.
Over the weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles made another UDFA signing and that was safety Daytawion Lowe out of Oklahoma State. Lowe played in the same secondary with fourth overall pick Justin Gilbert who went to the Cleveland Browns.
Lowe is an undersized safety but standing at 5-foot-11 and 195 lbs, he made 39 starts for Oklahoma State over his career. At Oklahoma State, Lowe was a playmaker and an impact player on the field. Over his career, he had 269 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and five interceptions.
Last season for the Cowboys, he had 87 tackles and two interceptions. That’s pretty solid for a safety of his caliber. Lowe is a versatile DB as he can also play a little bit of cornerback as well. At OSU’s Pro Day, he ran a 4.45 in the 40 yard dash.
Currently, the Eagles need all the secondary help they can get as even though they drafted one the more competition the better. Also, if you remember this past off-season they did not bring back Kurt Coleman and Patrick Chung.]]>
