On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Phillies released infielder Ronny Cedeno and today they have re-signed him. According to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, the Phils have re-signed Cedeno to a minor league deal.

It seems as if Cedeno will not be with the big league club as of yet as the Phillies have their backup infielders on their active roster. If you did not know, Freddy Galvis will be out a few weeks with a case of MRSA.
The Phillies made sure that they were not shorthanded in the infield so Cesar Hernandez made the big league club and then they made a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays for Jayson Nix.
In spring training, Cedeno hit .182 in 31 games. Also in those 31 games, he had 3 RBI and one stolen base. Right now, Cedeno is needed just in case anymore injuries happen to the Phillies before Freddy Galvis gets back.
