The Philadelphia Phillies have signed right-handed pitcher Barry Enright. The exact details of the deal aren’t known at this time, but it is known that it’s a minor league deal. Enright actually broke the news himself, via Twitter.

Enright has spent time with both the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels over the course of his four year MLB career, but he hasn’t seen too much success with either squad. His best season was the 2010 season, where he had an ERA of 3.91. His career ERA is 5.57 and his career win-loss record is 7-13.

Enright is a starting pitcher but he can come out of the bullpen as well. He will spend spring training fighting for the fifth spot in the Phillies starting rotation but I think Roberto Hernandez will beat him out for that. It seems likely that Enright will start the season in the Phillies bullpen, or even the minor leagues instead.
