Philadelphia Soul Player Profile: Sean Kauleinamoku

If you asked the average Philadelphia sports to name five players on the Philadelphia Soul, odds are they probably couldn’t. It is a little known fact the Soul are Philadelphia’s winningest franchise since 2004 and some people are impressed by that fact and others are embarrassed by it. The Soul is still growing it’s fan base and trying to up its exposure. To help that along, myself along with Joe Buscemi will be doing a player profile series so you can better know the players on the Soul. We will do a total of 10 players (five offensive & defensive) and it will be published twice a week. First up on the list is a big key to the Soul’s success on offense and Dan Raudabaugh’s little Hawaiian, wide receiver Sean Kauleinamoku.

Kauleinamoku is a Hawaii native and his 29th birthday is coming up on May 24th. Kauleinamoku attended Western Oregon University studying exercise science and he was a wide receiver on the football team. He started his Arena Football League career with the Spokane Shock where he recorded 82 receptions for 1,037 yards with 25 touchdowns and was a part of the Shock’s championship team in 2010. After spending tw0 years with the Shock, Kauleinamoku split time in 2012 between the San Antonio Talons and the Utah Blaze racking up 74 catches for 903 yards and 16 touchdowns. Kauleinamoku went onto join the Pittsburgh Power in 2014 posting career-highs in catches(124), yards(1,359), and touchdowns(19).

The Soul would add Kauleinamoku in 2015 as a free agent and since some people had trouble pronouncing his name, everyone decided to refer him to “SK” from now on. In his first season with the Soul, Kauleinamoku had 70 receptions for 1038 yards and set a new career-high in touchdown receptions with 21. SK is off to a fast start in 2016 already with 13 touchdowns through the first six games and has recorded at least a touchdown in every game so far.

The Soul are rolling to start off the 2016 season and SK has been a crucial part of their success. Hope you enjoy this player profile series and come out and support the Soul, you won’t regret it.
