On Sunday night, we found out that the Philadelphia Phillies traded for Colorado Rockies utility man Ty Wigginton for a player to be named later or cash.
This move for the Phillies automatically boosts their bench because Wigginton can give some players on the team some rest and he can play multiple positions on the baseball field. Wigginton is a right handed bat that can play in the infield or outfield.
Wigginton in 2011 for the Rockies hit .242, with 15 homeruns, and 47 RBIs in 130 games played. This acquisition can only help the Phils bench not hurt. But we will see what else the Phillies have up their sleeve in free agency.
