On Saturday night it was announced that the Phillies have traded Michael Young to the Dodgers, for LHP Rob Rasmussen.
BREAKING: #Dodgers get Michael Young from #Phillies

Young has a slash line of .272/.333/.389 this year. That is not bad. Young also has 8 home runs, so he has some pop. He has a war of 0.0, which means he had pretty much no effect on the Phillies at all. He is terrible at fielding, as shown by his -31.4 UZR. That is one of the worst UZR’s I have ever seen, so he is obviously very bad at fielding.
Rob Rasmussen is 3-4 in Double-A this year, with an ERA of 2.55. He is also averaging 8.41 K per 9 innings and 3.1 walks per 9 innings, which is very good. Hopefully he can turn himself into something someday.
How does this move help the Phillies? The Phillies did get Rob Rasmussen, a 24 year old pitching prospect, and Michael Young is gone. The Phillies do have Cody Asche, so he will most likely be playing third base from now on, and personally I think he is a better option than Michael Young in the first place.
How does this trade help the Dodgers? They now have a quality bench bat, and I think he will really help them. He can play multiple infield positions if needed, so he will probably be used a lot towards the end of the season, because the Dodgers will be resting a lot of their players often so they will be fresh for the post-season.
I think that this move works out well for both the Phillies and the Dodgers.
