This was announced yesterday, but I wanted to mention that the Pirates have hired Bethel Park native Todd Tomczyk as their new trainer. He was with the Dodgers as an assistant trainer but prior to that he was employed by (surprise!) the Indians as a trainer in their minor league system. He’s a fellow Duquesne alum, so obviously he’s awesome and no one will ever get hurt on the Pirates ever again. You can read a bit more about him in the team press release.
