    • Mark Melancon blew his second consecutive save.
    • Hernán Pérez went 2-4 with two RBIs.

    • Gregory Polanco 2-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
  • What went wrong:
    • Francisco Liriano committed an error when he made a poor pickoff attempt at second base.
    • Jonathan Villar hit a towering solo home run on a 0-2 count.
    • David Freese went 0-4 and stranded three men on base.
