  • What went right:
    • Gregory Polanco continues to be one hot cup of El Coffee. He went 2-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk.
    • Andrew McCutchen followed up his three home run performance with another solid game. He went 2-5 with a walk and a run scored.
    • Jordy Mercer made several nice plays at short stop and got the go-ahead RBI in extra innings. He went 2-5 with one RBI and a walk.
    • Kyle Lobstein was tremendous in extra innings again. He went three innings, allowed zero runs on three hits and got a much deserved win for his troubles.
  • What went wrong:
    • Jon Niese was better than his line indicated, but he still was below the line. He went five innings, allowed five runs on 10 hits and walked two. Just needs to avoid that one bad inning in the future. There is a lot of good with in this and most of his performances so far.
    • Mark Reynolds continues to haunt the Pirates. He went 3-6 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.
    • Neftali Feliz was not very effective. He lasted only one-third of an inning and gave up two runs on three hits.
    • Tony Watson continued his early season home run troubles by allowing the game-tying shot to Gerardo Parra in the eighth inning.
