Pittsburgh Pirates Series Recap: Reds and Beans.

The Pirates didn’t get to finish this series because of rain and no make up date has been officially announced, but it’s nice to into the off-day with a victory. The Reds and Pirates always seem to bring out the venom in each other as for whatever reason the games always turned into bean-ball.

The Pirates let a good opportunity slip through this fingers in game one and almost did the same in game two, but they walk away with a two game split. Not the most ideal result against the Reds, but when you lose game one, winning game two becomes vital and the Pirates did just that.

The Pirates will enjoy an off-day today before they take on the Cubs in Wrigley Field. The Pirates will have revenge on their minds after the Cubs completely dominated the Pirates in PNC Park last week. Nothing can be decided in May, but it would certainly benefit the Pirates to play better because the Cubs aren’t going anywhere and if the team wants to win the division this season, they must start to beat the Cubs with some consistency. First pitch is Friday at 2:20pm.

Series Result: Split 1-1

2016 win/loss record: 18-15

2016 series record: 6-4-1
