The Pittsburgh Pirates Celebrate Wine, an Epic Comeback and Dads
The Pirates are back home after a disappointing road trip and hoping to get a little of their fire back. A walk-off homer from Sean Rodriguez last night definitely helped.
A thing of beauty. #Walkoff #RaiseIthttps://t.co/AOF0emMYIY

Notice they’re all grabbing his man-bun? This may be a thing now…
Last week Gerrit Cole popped a cork to raise money for Pirates Charities at an Uncorked Event. He didn’t do any of the wine-making himself, but he got to help pick out some of the packaging. This image of Cole is similar to the one on the bottle of the 2013 red he selected:

Fellow pitcher Jameson Taillon was at the event supporting Gerrit and hung out with some of the attendees (is he old enough to drink wine?)

Speaking of pitchers, Ryan Vogelsong had his first start post-eye injury on August 4, and even though the Pirates couldn’t pull off the win – he pitched better than he had before getting hit in the face with a pitch on May 23. The baseball world was thrilled to see him, not just on the field, but contributing to the effort.
Here's our lineup for tonight with Vogelsong on the hill.#LetsGoBucs pic.twitter.com/NTek2taBBY

A little over 10 weeks ago, Ryan Vogelsong worried his eye was gone and his career was over. No matter how this goes, a remarkable comeback.

What a day for Ryan Vogelsong!!
Six innings, 1 run, 3 hits, 1 walk, 5 K's.
First people he hugs are the trainers that helped him! -RI

Give Ryan Vogelsong CREDIT. To come back from all of that facial damage, ahead of schedule, and pitch they way he has tonight–KUDO's

After getting a big hug from Clint Hurdle, Ryan Vogelsong bear-hugged Todd Tomczyk, the team's athletic trainer who helped rehab him.

We’re going to bend our rule here at Pirates Breakdown about not creeping on players’ families’ timelines just a bit (although, these were both retweeted…) because Voggy’s wife, Nicole had a few very special things to say about the start before and AFTER the game.
May 23rd when Ry was hit, we thought his amazing 19 year journey may be over. Tonight he steps back on a MLB mound.🙌 pic.twitter.com/UchqbEqjae

Jared Hughes is known for a quirky sense of humor. This is a classic illustration of it:

Juan Nicasio keeps sharing Instas of his little mini-me, and they are delicious! Give that baby a beard and we may have trouble telling them apart.

We had to balance out all of this boy stuff with just a little pink…Matt Joyce is gonna be buried in it soon enough.

Francisco Cervelli seems like that type of friend who is always ready to celebrate his buddies. His recent #TBT photo of him and off-season workout partner Melky Cabrera (in celebration of The Milk Man’s birthday) is proof.

Their smiles are bright, but nothing to those of a few fans getting to meet their baseball favorite.

And finally, read into this Tweet by Andrew McCutchen (who has been lambasted by media and fans alike for recent performance issues) what you will.
