Pittsburgh Pirates fans are in the home stretch now.
What home stretch you ask? The home stretch without meaningful baseball activity. In just two short days – February 13th – pitchers and catchers will officially report to the Pirates’ summer home to begin prep for 2017.
The 2017 Pirates are set to be a team rich in storylines, which will begin as soon as the team begins workouts. Pirates Breakdown has some special coverage plans in store as the club grinds through the Spring.

Each Day Brings Previews and Highlights
Each weekday at noon, Pirates Breakdown will hit you with a Spring Training preview piece. These pieces will consist of specific player season previews – will Gerrit Cole rebound? Will Gregory Polanco continue to improve? – to other fare such as previewing specific team aspects such as identifying an optimal lineup or taking stock of the club’s NL Central rivals.
Here’s how out first week of coverage is shaping up:
On the weekends we’ll still have some great preview content for you, but the weekdays slot at noon will get the headliners. Perfect lunchtime reading. We’ll also be bringing back some video highlights of each day of Spring Training. This, in addition to covering the latest news and happenings on a day to day basis.
